You have to be proactive and take responsibility of your
credit score.
- Review your credit reports for mistakes, maybe
the current address is correct but you never lived at the previous address.
Correct the mistake it will not go away on its own, you have to contact the
credit bureau miss-reporting and have it corrected!
- According to the FICO website running up your
balances on your cards is damaging to your score. While having credit is a good
thing – utilizing all of it or most is not! Keep those balances under 50-35%
that way you are using your cards and actively building your credit but not
going over budget at the same time!
- It seems nowadays every time you check out the cashier is trying to get you to apply for a credit card! Every new application will lower your score regardless if you are approved or not. Hey! No one needs a credit card with an APR at 24.99% in the first place!
Just some advice to prevent your score from plummeting!
